BLENDTEC | Who we are
Long before the video series of "? "WILL IT BLEND" became a hit on YouTube, Tom Dixon the CEO and founder of the company was already grinding in two blenders to determine their intensity. Not surprising for an engineer and inventor, who has grown and developed while adapting large motors to small products.
In 1975, Tom's curiosity arose when he needed a vacuum cleaner to clean some spilled wheat grains. Natural curiosity prompted him to revolutionise the domestic wheat grinding industry from a millstone technique to his stainless steel head patent. Like most inventors, Tom was not satisfied with this. He envisioned the perfect mixer that would use freshly ground flour at home and make healthy bread in minutes.
When he returned to the lab, Tom developed an automatic kneading which kneaded the dough, develops the gluten and turns off automatically when finished.
Tom continued to improve the mixer and decided to add a blender to it with a 4-sided jug instead of the usual round jug.
In parallel with the expansion of the business of grinding flour and mixer, new ideas developed. He strengthened the blender, and began to develop commercial blenders just as the era of smoothies burst into consciousness.
People all over the world use Blandtech blenders in their homes, restaurants, smoothie stores, coffee shops and more. We continue to dream of new and better ways to build machines that will improve the lives of others. It all started with one person and his curiosity. He shared a vision with others, and with his team, and the dream continues to evolve."
